The City of Iron River Department of Public Works (or “DPW”, as they are commonly called), consists of a Foreman, along with several other personnel that act as laborers, equipment operators and truck drivers.  The list of services provided by this department include but are not limited to:

  • Road Maintenance (41.37 miles of streets, 14.21 miles of alley)
  • Monitoring and Maintenance of Water and Sewer Lines
  • Snow Removal - see parking regulations during winter months
  • Cleaning and Maintenance of Municipal City Parks.

If you need your water service turned on or off please call the City Hall at 906 265-4719 extension 105 to set up an appointment.  If we are closed and you have a water or sewer emergency, please call the Iron County Sheriff’s Department Central Dispatch at (906) 875-6669 and someone from the DPW will be dispatched.
